Posted by: kindkit

I'm about to post a chapter here, but not from the project I expected. I don't feel ready to tackle the Second World War yet, so instead I'm going to try a project I've found myself thinking about for months since its origin in a fannish joke with halotolerant: a male/male Regency romance.

The story is, I admit, based in a fanfic AU idea, but it's so AU and also so much built on head-canon for the fandom that the resemblance is already not that close. At this stage, though, I'm indulging myself by keeping the names of some characters a bit similar to the ones in the fandom.

If you want to read this, you need to ask for membership in the community. Subscribing is NOT enough, because you won't be able to see member-locked posts, and all the chapters will be member-locked. I mention this because several people have subscribed to this community but not joined it. I will give membership to anyone who asks. And if you signed up for the World War II novel and don't want a Regency romance, please feel free to leave the community. No offense will be taken.

Please bear in mind that what I will be posting here are rough drafts, and also that I've never tried to write a novel before. Gentle constructive criticism is welcome, whether it's about structure, plot, tone, historical issues, etc., but this is not at the beta-reading stage, so please ignore infelicities of language. Especially since I'm trying for a Jane Austen pastiche that's not quite so thorough as to leave the readers needing footnotes.

comments
